What a Beautiful October !

November 5, 2011

We were surely blessed with extremely good weather last month. Although we are focusing on catching Muskie, the northern pike were jumping all over our lures! We lost a few muskie, and caught a few. More and more big fish are showing up everyday , and we have high hopes for the next month or so of getting into bigger and bigger fish as our season progresses.

2011 Hunt for Muskie is on !

October 13, 2011

The Waterwolf  is now in Clayton , N.Y.  trolling the picturesque St. Lawrence River for the Monster Muskie that live in the 1000 Islands Region.  Our first five trips out last week produced two HUGE muskies on the line…both of which eluded being landed.  There will be more!

Clayton, N.Y.

Our muskie season is very short. (76 days) As of now we only have a few opens days to book. Oct. 17 – 21 and Dec. 12-15.  The phone rings everyday, and these dates will not be available for long ! Finished up our 2011 Salmon Season

October 12, 2011

What an incredible run of spawning salmon we had this year!  Our last bunch of charters trolling  in front of the famed Salmon River provided our guests with full coolers of Coho and Chinook salmon, in short order, as we limited out daily in only a few hours of exciting action!

We now are changing species for the rest of this year, and will not  target salmon again until the boat is in Wilson next May, fishing on the Niagara Bar!  It is never too early to book the weekends for May and June, as quite a few of them were reserved by last springs guests, before they got off the boat!

All the salmon tackle was taken off the boat, and replaced with the Musky Gear.  The Waterwolf   has been moved to Clayton N.Y. and we are presently trolling the St. Lawrence River, ON THE HUNT FOR MUSKY!

Staging Salmon

September 3, 2011

The salmon are staging out in front of the rivers, preparing for their final act in life, THE SPAWN !  Although in this stage of their life, they no longer are feeding, but aggressively striking out at anything that gets near them, including our lures. Every day now,  more and more fish are showing up on our Lowrance XD-10, and incredible action is happening on the back of the boat.  Our first pass through the school this morning,  generated 5 strikes, with three staying hooked up for an exciting “triple” on the dipsy divers…followed by non stop hook ups and fish in the box for over the first three hours of the trip.  Lots of laughs, smiles, and sore arms from battling these hard hitting, long running salmon!

It is not too late to get in on the action…There is still a few weeks of this awesome catching available, and a few open dates in the schedule as well!

There are more where these came from ! Book your trip now, before they spawn.

Moving The Boat

August 25, 2011

The Waterwolf  is continually on the move,  to stay atop the best fishing available at all times!  We start our salmon season in the spring in Wilson, N.Y.  The Niagara River and the famed Niagara Bar are just a short ride away for superb action of these acrobatic salmon,  available in the months of May and June.  This past spring was exceptionally good, with limit catches of salmon being caught on every trip off the dock!  Our last trip this year out of  Wilson,  July 1st. ,  was our best, with over 30 salmon caught that trip.

In July, the Waterwolf  is moved east..mid lake.  This season we chose Fairhaven,  for its close proximity to the deep water the salmon haunt during the mid summer months.

Many days we found our fish in depths over 500 feet.

Now it is time to move the boat again.  Saturday August 27 , we will take our guests out of  Fairhaven,  fish beside the boats having too much fun in front of Oswego, and then dock her at Mike’s Marina , in the Little Salmon River. We will finish the last 6 weeks of our salmon season fishing near the Salmon River, where the bulk of the stocked salmon go to spawn (hatchery), and that watershed has a high percentage of the natural born fish also.

These “move the boat” charters are in high demand…so call your booking in early, and request them if you are interested in sharing this experience in the future ! (only 4 days out of the whole season)

Here are a few pictures of some of the seasons catch so far.
