Perhaps Largest Muskie in 50 Yrs.
December 12, 2010
Ed is close personal friend and I’ve been trying to get him to go muskie fishing with me for years to no avail. Fortunately, I think I wore him down and he finally made the trip north from New Jersey.
After settling in, we connected at the local restaurant and crafted our game plan for the trip. As we headed out the following morning, the weather was anticipated to turn south on us by the afternoon with heavy seas and high winds.
We had set up a detailed spread of lines by the morning, when the winds had started to pick up. We began to search for calmer waters when one of the flat line rods fired and Ed was into the battle of a life time. The monster pulled out over 300 ft of line in a matter of seconds and we all knew it was game on. After a 30 minute battle, with forearms burning and legs shaking, Ed boated this monster St. Lawrence River Muskie of a lifetime.
Given the size and magnitude of Ed’s fish, we’ve received alot of press coverage. Feel free to read the detailed articles at the following:
